Content is king but how: Utrecht-based startup preps up with €2.25 million to redefine headless CMS

The headless content management system (CMS), Prepr has raised €2.25 million in a pre-Series A round led by Amsterdam-based venture capital firm Newion along with ROM Utrecht to fuel expansion in Europe.

Founded in 2021 by Tim Hansen, CTO, Prepr, the Utrecht-based platform is enabling forward-thinking businesses to maximise impact by managing their content. Its headless CMS includes a built-in personalisation engine that offers features such as lean customer profiles, real-time segments and content targeting. This provides digital teams with a state-of-the-art solution to manage and personalise content for an efficient customer experience.

Talking about how will the CMS utilise the new fund, Jouko Huismans, CEO, Prepr said: “We’re developing all kinds of data-driven features. We’ve raised this pre-Series A funding to add fuel to our growth as this allows us to innovate and expand our platform.”

Patrick Polak, Managing Partner, Newion said: “Currently the CMS market is booming and pivoting towards headless systems. Prepr has a unique foundation, making it easy to deliver personalisation at scale while keeping the agile workflow of a headless CMS.”
