French algorithmic image editing startup Meero raises $45 million

Paris-based AI-powered image and video production startup Meero has landed a $45 million Series B funding round led by Alven and Idinvest. The fresh capital injection brings the total amount raised by the company to over $60 million.

Meero employs artificial intelligence algorithms to solve one of the problems of the imaging industry: the long and laborious process of photo editing. It normally takes four hours to edit an hour-long photo shoot, which makes doing it at scale quite difficult. Meero claims to be able to reduce this time to a few seconds.

The Paris-founded startup has built an AI-powered platform to automate the processing of photo shoots and has already attracted clients from over 100 countries, including Airbnb and UberEats. The company will use the fresh funding to launch a computer vision centre in France and open new offices in the US and Asia.

Founded in 2016, Meero employs 180 people and has more than 40,000 customers.
