Although our thoughts are still with all the people and organisations affected by the last-minute cancellation of the Mobile World Congress and 4YFN Conference in Barcelona, today is a happy day for a couple of reasons.

First of all, we want to formally announce that our Mobile Sunday event is not only still happening, but will be bigger and bolder than ever before as promised. With the help of Venturelab, which supports Swiss entrepreneurs in building thriving businesses, we are delighted to host startup founders, investors, media and other stakeholders from across the industry to a great evening of networking and content.

The organisation is also holding a startup pitching event at the Royal Yacht Club (for investors only!) during the afternoon, but then it’s all hands on deck for Mobile Sunday 2020.

Venturelab and the next edition of Mobile Sunday are supported by Vischer, Swisscom, Huawei and Switzerland Global Enterprise. There will be pitches from the following Swiss startups from Venturelab’s ‘Venture Leaders Mobile’ crew: CREAL, decentriq, ecoRobotix, Exeon Analytics, iniVation, Kido Dynamics and Synthara.

We are currently working on the program to have some great speeches alongside the above Swiss startups pitching on stage, but also still included in the deal: a premier networking event with free food and drinks, music and connecting with great people on a funky rooftop terrace. Sign up here; tickets are free of charge.

IMPORTANT: if you have already signed up for Mobile Sunday in the previous weeks but cannot make it anymore due to the cancellation of MWC or for whatever reason, it would be amazing if you could cancel your ticket to let us know you will not be attending. It will make it a bit easier for us to predict how many attendees to expect.

On a personal note, I also want to say it’s incredible how the local innovation ecosystem has united to make sure next week will be remembered in Barcelona and beyond – if not for MWC/4YFN. For more information on what is going on, check out the #TechSpiritBarcelona website and an overview of events and more on Barcinno and Sifted.

We are looking forward to being a part of that movement, and to see you at Mobile Sunday!
