Finnish software developer Vaadin raises €5 million

Finnish Vaadin, a developer of open source web application development tools, raised €5 million in venture capital funding from Verdane Capital IX.

Finnish Vaadin, a developer of open source web application development tools, raised €5 million from Verdane Capital IX.

The company plans to use the funds to further invest in product development and marketing.

Vaadin's products enable businesses to replace desktop applications with web applications that run on all major mobile and desktop browsers.

Janne Holmia from Verdane Capital Advisors said in a statement, "We consider Vaadin to represent some of the strongest software expertise in the world. We think we can help this outstanding team in their ambitious growth plans, by building on Verdane's software knowledge. The importance of software and user experience continue to grow and we believe Vaadin can help businesses advance in these areas."
