Techstars to launch Paris accelerator in September

US accelerator Techstars is opening its next location in Paris in partnership with VC firm Partech Ventures.

The program will run for 13 weeks in September at Partech Shaker (pictured), a business campus that opened in Paris last September and now houses Etsy and Dropbox among others. It also runs the Europe Made Easy program to help foreign companies expand into Europe.

“Techstars has gotten to know Partech over the last several years through mutual co-investments and a partnership between Techstars NYC and Partech’s international startup campus based in Paris, the Partech Shaker,” said Bertier Luyt, managing director of Paris program.

Mentors taking part in the accelerator include William Shu, Deliveroo founder; Mike Hudack, product director at Facebook; and Nuno Simaria, CTO of HelloFresh. The accelerator will take a 6% stake in startups through its equity back guarantee.

“We share with Techstars our passion for supporting the most ambitious entrepreneurs from their beginnings through to their transformation,” added Romain Lavault, general partner at Partech Ventures.

Hosting the accelerator at the Partech Shaker is "creating an international entrepreneurial ecosystem in the heart of Paris,” commented Marie Raichvarg, managing director of the campus.

The US company already runs 27 accelerator programs in the US, Europe, and Africa.
