Copenhagen-based tattoo platform Tattoodo raises $5.3 million

Danish tattoo marketplace platform Tattoodo has landed $5.3 million in a funding round led by Seed Capital, with participation from several investors, including Rene Rechtman, Errol Damelin, Daniel Agger, Christian Stadil, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

Founded in 2013, the startup now claims to be “the world's largest tattoo community with more than 500,000 registered tattoo artists” and more than 6 million registered users. Its platform allows users to view artists' portfolios and make bookings at tattoo studios.

“Our booking feature gives users the means to access the best studios and artists in a convenient way and finally, tattooers will have the same benefits that other SMEs have had for the past ten years - receiving bookings with a click of a button,” said Johan Plenge, co-founder and CEO at Tattoodo.
