A European hub and a top Israeli accelerator have partnered to provide a top value programme that supports European and Israeli Startups.

EIT Hub Israel is part of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), which runs programmes and accelerators to help boost startups and scaleups using business tools, matchmaking, mentors and a global network.

8200 Impact is a top Israeli acceleration program and community dedicated to impact-tech startups, that aims to tackle significant social or environmental challenges with advanced technological solutions. The program is affiliated with the 8200 Alumni Association, a non-profit that supports the graduates of 8200, the IDF’s central information gathering and cybersecurity elite unit.

The two innovation entities have partnered for Calling2Scale, an eight-week intensive bootcamp. The bootcamp is looking to offer value to startups in three tracks: Renewable Energy, Waste Management and Recycling, and Health. Startups must be ready to scale, have a working product, a business plan and have raised at least one round of funding. The programme is equity free and fully funded for the selected startups.

Fourteen European and Israeli startups will be selected to take part in the bootcamp. The Bootcamp will offer eight tailored group workshops, weekly one-on-one growth support with a team of experts to ensure effective progress, access to global mentors, matchmaking with industry players and opportunities, and one-of-a-kind Europe-Israel peer learning.

Participants will also have direct access to the track leaders, companies in the relevant sectors offering mentorship, support and access to beta sites - Medtronic, Doral Tech, Greennet, Integer, and IMED

Throughout the programme, startups will gain valuable tools such as storytelling, online and sales strategies, product design, market access, legal, business development, regulation, IP and more, combined with forging connections around Europe and Israel through EIT’s global community.  In addition, the programme has ecosystem partners and innovation managers - Start-up Nation Central, EIC, Naschitz Brandes Amir, Tel Aviv Municipality and the Israeli Institute of Innovation.

The programme will take place virtually with in-person events dependent on how the pandemic and travel restrictions change over the coming months. It will culminate with a demo day where the startups will present their work. Various key players and partners in the Israeli ecosystem will be invited.

“The startup program, supported by the European Institute for Innovation and Technology (EIT), aims to forward the strengths of Israel and Europe and gather the most valuable resources from around the world to support leading technologies in the fields of health, climate and energy in Seed/A stages,” Adi Barel, managing director of EIT Hub Israel, said.

“The merger with leading partners in the industry, including 8200 Impact, IMED , Integer, Green Net, Doral Energy, Startup Nation Central, and the connection to EIT's European partner network, makes the program significant and unique at the international level,” Barel said.
