Giraffe360, a London-based 360 real estate camera startup, has raised $16 million in new funds led by the pan-European early-stage VC Founders Fund.
Founders Fund led the round with participation from existing Giraffe360 investors; LAUNCHub Ventures, Hoxton Ventures, HCVC (Hardware Club) and Change Ventures.
Funding has continued to pour into proptech startups in 2022. Emerging products in this area cover the entire real estate value chain, everything from breaking ground on new construction projects through to digital twins software and workforce safety devices.
Giraffe360's product is a bespoke HDR "3 in 1" camera that lets developers quickly whip up a 360-degree virtual tour of their real estate while also digitising the property's floor plans.
The latter requires precise measurements taken using Giraffe360's AI-controlled laser technology, which the startup says can record floor measures at near-perfect (98%) accuracy.
Along with the $16 million raise, Giraffe360 is also launching the latest iteration of its product. The latest camera — branded Giraffe Go Cam — promises a suite of technical upgrades and a form factor that's 30% lighter, in addition to fast charging and 500 gigabytes of on board storage.
Giraffe360's product is subscription-based; the subscription includes access to the camera, AI image processing suite and cloud storage as well as any bolt-ons the developer might need.
The startup has previously raised funds on at least three occasions. It secured €500,000 in pre-seed funds from Koha Capital in 2016, adding £1 million from Change Ventures three years later.
The startup's formal seed round came in November 2020, raising a total of $4.5 million from LAUNCHub Ventures and Hoxton Ventures (both co-leading the round), along with HCVC and Change Ventures.
