Finnish med-tech CurifyLabs has been awarded a grant of €2.5 million from the European Innovation Council (EIC) Accelerator programme to further its MiniLab technology.

The EIC Accelerator award supports start-up companies in developing and scaling up game-changing innovations in the EU.

CurifyLabs’ MiniLab allows hospitals and community pharmacies to make tailor made medicines as it provides onsite compounding capabilities.

TheMiniLab enables tailored 3D printing of bespoke pharmaceuticals by compounding pharmacies. It has been designed to support compounding pharmacies in eliminating the laborious and time-consuming manual manufacturing of pharmaceuticals and delivering tailored medicines.

“We are delighted to have received this prestigious grant from the European Innovation Council to further develop MiniLab and bring a high-quality 3D printing solution for compounding of personalised medicines to pharmacists across Europe,” says Charlotta Topelius, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, CurifyLabs.

“There’s a large and growing demand for personalised therapies and our solution is aimed at helping compounding pharmacists meet those needs,” she adds.

The MiniLab is already successfully piloted by several pharmacies in Finland, Spain, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands.
