UK cloud-based editing platform Edit Cloud has secured £2m funding to empower collaboration in the post-production sector.
Founded by broadcast industry insider Simon Green, Edit Cloud’s platform aggregates cloud-based tools and AI technology to enable teams to work collaboratively and efficiently from any device, any software, anywhere in the world.
Increasingly businesses are constrained by traditional ways of working, such as on-premises workflows, hybrid teams, security issues, content transfer and inconsistent training and capability.
Edit Cloud’s focus is on bringing together talent communities in one place, all fully trained and up to speed on secure and globally accessible virtual editing suites.
The company has already secured partnerships with major brands including ITV Studios, Adobe and AWS and supporting agencies such as Publicis.
VC firm Edge led the funding, with angel investors including Simon Ward, Inspired Thinking Group's Founder and creative technology entrepreneur Justin Cooke, known for his successful agency exit to WPP.
Simon Green, founder and CEO of Edit Cloud, commented:
“Our sector is at a pivotal moment. We’ve all had to use outdated systems and fragmented editing processes for years, which has made it increasingly hard for production staff and creative teams to be their best.
As AI continues to revolutionise traditional workflows, here at Edit Cloud we’re able to transform production processes into the cloud, finally unlocking new efficiencies, enabling diversity and talent democratisation, as well as delivering everything more sustainably.”
Hannah Williamson, senior investment manager at Edge VC said:
"Edit Cloud exemplifies the kind of pioneering spirit we champion at Edge. We believe in backing visionary businesses that push boundaries and create lasting impact.
With Edit Cloud, we see a platform that not only leverages cutting-edge technology but also democratises access to post-production tools, which aligns perfectly with our own values."
