Plain, a platform for B2B customer support, has raised $15M in Series A funding led by Battery Ventures, with continued participation from Index Ventures and Connect Ventures.
Plain is a customer support platform designed to integrate seamlessly with a company's existing systems through API-first architecture. This approach enables businesses to provide efficient and streamlined support by connecting their product data directly with the support platform.
The company announced a $6 million Seed investment round in 2022 co-led by Connect Ventures and Index Ventures, with participation from several angel investors. This funding is intended to further develop their API-first platform and transform customer support for businesses.
The platform is designed to be highly customisable, allowing companies to tailor their support tools to their specific needs. With the funding, Plain will invest in customer retention and establish its first U.S. office in San Francisco.
“Support is no longer just about closing tickets – it’s about building long-term relationships,” said Simon Rohrbach, Co-founder and CEO of Plain. “The migration to collaborative, real-time channels is changing the way businesses interact with customers. Plain is the platform designed for this new reality, helping companies deliver support that’s fast, effective, and aligned with their customers’ needs.”
Neeraj Agrawal, a Battery Ventures general partner, noted: “Simon and Matt’s dedication to crafting an exceptional product is clear in everything they’ve built. As B2B support moves into this new era of collaboration and AI, Plain is well positioned to lead the way. We’re thrilled to partner with them on this journey.”
Plain was founded by Simon Rohrbach and Matt Vagni. Simon led Deliveroo’s 40-person content, research, and design team, while Matt built its design systems and internal tooling.
