Fronted raises €1.7M to simplify global hiring and business expansion

Nordic HRtech startup Fronted has raised €1.7 million (NOK 18 million) in a seed funding round to support its international expansion and further develop its AI-powered platform for managing global employment operations.

The round was led by Swedish investment firm Kaknäs Invest, with participation from Skagerak Capital. Existing investors, including Antler and Sondo Capital, also participated, alongside a group of new angel investors.

International expansion often requires companies to navigate different employment regulations, payroll systems and compliance requirements. Businesses operating across multiple countries may need to work with several service providers, creating additional administrative complexity and costs.

Founded by Marius Blaker Høgevold (CEO) and Hans Nyvold Kjellby (Chairman and CCO), Fronted aims to address these challenges through an integrated platform combining cross-border recruitment, Employer of Record (EOR) services and company entity setup and management. The platform is designed to help businesses manage international hiring and employment operations through a single provider.

The company's technology automates administrative tasks such as payroll calculations, tax reconciliations and employment contract generation. By incorporating local labour regulations into its software, Fronted aims to reduce manual processes, improve pricing transparency and simplify compliance across different jurisdictions.

Marius Blaker Høgevold, co-founder and CEO of Fronted, highlighted the challenges businesses face when expanding internationally, particularly the costs and complexities associated with existing service providers.

We are building the invisible software layer that takes away the headache of cross-border administration, giving ambitious companies a trusted Nordic partner to scale globally with total transparency and ease,

said Høgevold.

The new funding will be used to support Fronted's commercial expansion, extend its operational infrastructure to 70 countries and further develop its AI-powered payroll engine.
