Plentific, an online marketplace for home services, has landed £2 million in fresh funding from Pi Labs alongside a number of angel investors.
The UK-based home improvement startup, founded in 2014, connects homeowners and landlords with trade and home service professionals. There are currently 75,000 professionals listed on the “proptech” site.
Plentific’s new funds will be used to increase brand awareness and develop new features for the marketplace. The company has partnerships with Zoopla, Primelocation and the Planning Portal and it intends to announce more partnerships in the coming months.
“We are driven by making home improvements better value by removing the hassle of back-and-forth phone calls, protecting consumers’ identity, scheduling, sourcing quotes and payments, so people can focus on getting the work done,” said cofounder Cem Savas.
The investment from Pi Labs will aid Plentific’s target of being Europe’s biggest home improvement marketplace, added cofounder Emre Kazan.
“The home services market is a key investment theme for Pi Labs given the strong European consumer fundamentals and Plentific’s speed of product development and calibre of partnerships were decisive factors in our involvement,” said Dominic Wilson, managing partner at Pi Labs.
