Finland's TactoTek receives investment from car parts maker Faurecia

Finland’s TactoTek, designers of injection molded structural electronics, has received an investment from French automotive parts manufacturer Faurecia.

The company declined to comment on how much Faurecia has invested but stated that its total funding now stands at $20 million. It has previously raised a $1.9 million seed round from Conor Ventures and received a €2.5 million EU Horizon 2020 grant.

TactoTek designs injection molded structural electronics (IMSE) for automotive interiors and home appliances. The company added that it is spreading into the wearables and medical device spaces.

“Faurecia’s automotive interiors market leadership reflects their ability to deliver innovative solutions to market,” stated Jussi Harvela, CEO of TactoTek, “when combined with TactoTek’s IMSE expertise, it’s an opportunity to re-think and revolutionize how and where electronic functions are deployed in vehicles, and the forms that they take.”

TactoTek is headquartered in Oulu, Finland with offices in Detroit and Silicon Valley.
