Vonage, the US-based Internet telephony service provider, has announced the acquisition of the UK-founded cloud contact centre company NewVoiceMedia for $350 million in an all-cash deal.

NewVoiceMedia claims to have more than 700 primarily mid-market and enterprise customers using its Contact Centre-as-a-Service (CCaaS) solutions, including Adobe, Siemens, Time Inc., FundingCircle, and Rapid7. It employs more than 400 people, who will join Vonage after the deal is closed.

Vonage, which provides VoIP services for businesses and private customers, plans to combine its own offering with NewVoiceMedia's solutions to offer integrated communications suite for enterprises. It's also looking to deepen the integration with CRM systems—particularly Salesforce.com, of which NewVoiceMedia is a partner.

“Vonage and NewVoiceMedia share a powerful vision to serve businesses with cloud communications that connect employees and enable personalized conversations with their customers and prospects,” said Dennis Fois, CEO of NewVoiceMedia. “Together, we can help businesses create richer experiences through a state-of-the-art, global, programmable cloud communication platform.”
