University of Zurich spin-off Vay Sports has launched its AI-powered digital fitness coach in beta

Vay Sports, a Zurich-based spin-off startup from UZH, the largest university in Switzerland, has launched a first digital fitness coach that uses computer vision and AI to provide real-time feedback on posture during workouts.

Unlike conventional fitness apps, Vay Sports' three co-founders says its solution uses computer vision technology and algorithms to create a computer model of the user’s body from which it reads out the joint angles and compare them to an optimal repetition, designed with personal trainers.

The solution should not only enhance workout results, but also prevent injury.

The Beta version is now available in the Apple and Android app stores. Up to 1,000 users will have the opportunity to test the app and contribute to its development before its proper launch in September this year. Read more on Startupticker.
