See you in Helsinki: Slush 2018 promises to be as dark, hazy, and welcoming as ever

The tech conference season is peaking, with a few great events happening every week across Europe. From healthtech to SaaS to the future of mobility, every technology enthusiast can find something relevant. There's one special event coming up, though, that is expected to gather 20,000 people from all parts of the technology industry in a relatively unlikely corner of Europe.

Admittedly, Slush is one of our favourite conferences, and we're always happy to share the love and talk about the cool things we're about to witness this year. So, mark December 4—5 in your calendar and get ready to experience the charming Finnish weather in Helsinki.

“Don’t come to Slush for inspiration and networking,” the conference's CEO Andreas Saari wrote in a blog post. “Come if your time is best used by learning from these people than by staying home, working on your product.”

Among the people to come on stage at Slush 2018 to share their best-kept secrets the COO of PayPal Bill Ready and co-founder and CEO of iZettle Jacob de Geer. We hope to hear more about PayPal's acquisition of iZettle, which made quite some ripples in the European tech news landscape earlier this year. (Also, check out the interview with de Geer on our podcast!)

Other on-stage appearances include talks by TruStory's founder Preethi Kasireddy, Joel Flory of VSCO, the director of Station F and member of the tech.eu founding team Roxanne Varza, and dozens of other founders, investors, and tech pundits.

If you've never been to Slush or would like a refresher of how it feels to be in an enormous dark and hazy hangar together with 20,000 like-minded people, here's a video from the last year's event:

This year's Slush is all about interaction, learning, and time well spent. Same as last year, look forward to roundtable discussions with speakers and speed mentoring sessions, which got a lot of positive feedback. In addition to those, there's something new — Slush 2018 will be the first to feature the Showcase Studio, a stage where 80 companies will pitch and demo their products over the two conference days.

So, make sure you get your tickets and book flights in time — and see you in Helsinki soon! In the meantime, feel free to ponder around the recently launched Slush Resource Bank, a neatly structured archive of advice on all things entrepreneurship.
