Event space booking site HeadBox raises €1 million

The UK’s HeadBox, a SaaS-based marketplace for booking events spaces, has raised €1 million from German fund Egora Holding.

HeadBox is based in London and lists venues and creative spaces, such as cafes and theatres. It operates a business tier for companies to manage multiple venue bookings and events. The company said its gross merchandise value, bookings, and net revenue has tripled in the last six months.

HeadBox will use the new investment to further its software development and begin its international rollout.

“Our platform first strategy means that we are not just making the whole process of finding and booking venues for work related events so much easier, simpler and faster via our market place,” commented Andrew Needham, CEO of HeadBox, “but we are also providing our corporate guests and host venues with additional software services to anticipate their arising needs.”

Previous investors in HeadBox include Martin McCourt, former CEO of Dyson; Andy Cosslett, former CEO of InterContinental Hotels and operating partner of Advent Private Equity; and Johan Svanstrom, global president of Hotels.com.
