Belgium’s Waylay, a platform for connecting IoT devices with enterprise IT systems and the cloud, has raised €1.2 million to invest into growth and sales and marketing.
The funding round was led by PMV and Ark Angels Activator Fund (AAAF).
Ghent-based Waylay’s “IoT orchestration” service, which is SIGFOX-certified, integrates IoT applications with existing IT systems and cloud applications and counts Conrad Electronic SE, CIM Environmental Group, Proximus, and the city of Ghent among its clients.
“This funding round is the next step in Waylay’s growth process. Waylay is today already active in several European countries either direct or via partners,” said CEO Piet Vandaele. “The funding round will enable us to accelerate our sales and marketing effort and scale our business.”
“With a strong team and a state-of-the-art, patent-pending technology, Waylay is very well positioned to capture a leading role in a rapidly growing global market of IoT-driven applications,” added Rudi Severijns, AAAF fund manager.
“Waylay is raising the bar for IoT orchestration, unlocking tremendous business value for its customers,” said Kris Vandenberk, senior investment manager at PMV.
