It’s happening: Stockholm, Sweden-headquartered casual gaming giant King – mostly known for Candy Crush Saga – is going public on the New York Stock Exchange (shockingly under the ‘KING’ ticker).

According to a filing with the SEC, King expects to raise $500 million in the IPO, though that number might still change.

King is a truly European company, with its registered office in Dublin, Ireland (for the purpose of this IPO) and offices in Stockholm and Malmö (Sweden), Barcelona (Spain), Bucharest (Romania), London (UK), St. Julians (Malta) in addition to an office in San Francisco, California (US).

    Perhaps investors are afraid of hinging themselves on a company so brazen as to try to trademark the words “candy” and “saga”, as if they created those words and they haven’t been in the English dictionary for the past 200+ years.
