Opening in 2016: Crowdfunding HUB, an Amsterdam-based but pan-European knowledge centre dedicated to the fast-growing alternative financing mechanism.
Initiated by Ronald Kleverlaan, a crowdfunding expert and advisor to the European Commission, the Crowdfunding HUB is to become an independent network of thought leaders on the matter.
The centre will organise a series of events and workshops across Europe next year, and undertake (much needed IMHO) in-depth research on crowdfunding.
Its official launch will be on 31 March 2016 in The Hague, during the Innovative Enterprise event of the European Commission on Access to Finance. You can subscribe to its newsletter on the Crowfunding HUB website to stay updated.
Also check out the European Crowdfunding Network (also co-founded by Kleverlaan, coincidentally) if you're interested in the topic.
One thing definitely worth researching / improving: the returns for retail investors when it comes to equity crowdfunding campaigns, which so far have been lackluster.
