Alastair Mitchell, former Huddle CEO, has joined Swedish fund EQT Ventures as its newest partner and will be based out of the firm’s San Francisco office.
Mitchell is cofounder of Huddle and had been CEO until early 2015 when he stepped down from the role and began angel investing in startups like CharlieHR and Sparrho.
“There’s a fantastic opportunity for EQT Ventures to build a European hub here in San Francisco,” said Mitchell. The office will serve as a resource for EQT-backed companies to break into the US market as well as helping its US investments connect with Europe, he added.
Mitchell joins EQT’s three other partners Hjalmar Winbladh, Kees Koolen, and Lars Jornow
“Ali brings exceptionally deep experience in B2B SaaS to the role, along with a great network in the US and in Europe,” said Winbladh. “Expanding our network to the US is a natural next step, given our combined experience in helping companies to scale fast and very successfully.”
Some of EQT Ventures latest investments include HackerOne and MinDoktor.
