Complaion, an Italian company helping SMEs manage certifications and regulatory compliance, has raised €13.5 million in funding to expand its team, develop its technology and support its international growth. The round was led by Eurazeo and Italian Founders Fund, with participation from Shapers, 2100 Ventures, Kfund, Sella Direct Ventures and Enzo Ventures. Vento, Ithaca, Eden Ventures and Vesper also participated.
Founded in 2024 by Edoardo Tarricone (CEO), Marco Cortinovis (COO), and Alessandro Vaccarino (CTO), Complaion aims to simplify compliance processes for small and medium-sized businesses by combining proprietary technology with support from certified lead auditors and compliance specialists.
Complaion says its platform can automate up to 80 per cent of manual activities involved in compliance processes and has helped reduce certification times by up to five times. Its customers operate across sectors including manufacturing, healthcare, construction, logistics, professional services, agri-food, IT and software.
Its offering covers certifications including ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 27001 (information security) and ISO 42001 (artificial intelligence management), as well as ESG-related standards such as ISO 14001 (environmental management) and UNI/PdR 125 (gender equality). Complaion also supports businesses with European regulatory requirements, including the NIS2 Directive and the AI Act.
The company is expanding its services with the aim of becoming an all-in-one compliance provider for SMEs, covering areas including Health & Safety, Privacy & GDPR, subsidised financing and DPO-as-a-service.
Tarricone said Complaion sees compliance not as a barrier to growth, but as a way for businesses to access new opportunities:
In an increasingly digital sector, human expertise must remain central - especially in a complex market such as compliance. We will continue expanding our offerings to serve an ever-growing number of SMEs in Europe and make compliance easier, effortless and reliable. Our mission is to be the point of reference for all compliance needs based on expertise, technology, trust and human connection.
The new funding will support Complaion’s next stage of growth, including the hiring of additional specialised professionals, strengthening customer support and further development of its proprietary platform. The company also plans to use the investment to accelerate its expansion across Europe.
