TankYou raises €1 million for its online car fuel sales service

French startup TankYou, which is trying to bring consumer car fuel sales online, has raised €1 million from several business angels, including David Amsellem, CEO of concierge service John Paul and Grégoire Lassale, CEO of cinema listings site AlloCiné.

Founded last year, TankYou is a service that connects drivers with mobile petrol stations for the purchase of car fuel online. The service is a sort of on-demand petrol service operated by trained fuel deliverers that are qualified to handle and transport tanks of fuel. Drivers arrange times and places for their fuel to be delivered.

To date the startup has delivered over 100,000 litres of fuel, it said.

The startup is currently operating in Paris and Lille and intends to expand into more areas in France. Long term, it plans to spread around Europe and diversify its business into car upkeep services like cleaning, changing windshield wipers, or checking tire pressure.
