Belgian translation startup TextMaster acquired by Technicis for undisclosed amount

TextMaster, a Brussels and Paris-based translation startup, has been acquired by French translation agency Technicis. No terms for the deal have been disclosed.

TextMaster, which has raised more than $8 million in funding, was founded through the eFounders startup programme in Brussels and Paris; this marks the programme’s first major exit.

The platform connects companies with translators and copywriters to create marketing content for launching and operating in new markets. It has around 5,000 customers and generated $8 million in annual revenue in 2017.

“TextMaster now has the means to further accelerate its already spectacular growth and to become with Technicis the global leader for translation services,” said TextMaster CEO Thibault Lougnon on the deal.

Technicis, headquartered in Paris, is one of Europe’s largest translation service agencies. It has made a number of startup acquisitions in recent years including Switzerland’s Translation-Probst and Italian agency LSP Arancho Doc.
