Last week, we tracked 71 tech funding deals worth more than €843 million, as well as 14 M&A transactions across Europe, including Russia, Israel, and Turkey.

We listed every single deal in our weekly newsletter (note: the full newsletter is now available to paying subscribers only). Here’s an extra overview of the 10 biggest European tech news items for this week:

1) Taxify, the Estonian ride-hailing app, has reached unicorn status with a $1 billion valuation after raising $175 million in a round led by German automaker Daimler. China’s Didi Chuxing, the European VC Korelya Capital, and TransferWise co-founder Taavet Hinrikus also participated in the round.

2) Zynga has acquired Turkey-based 1010 mobile game maker Gram Games for $250 million in cash plus other considerations (after raising a mere $1.6 million in funding). Gram Games has studios in Istanbul, Turkey, where it was founded in 2012, and in London.

3) Tradeshift, a Danish startup that builds private marketplaces for businesses and facilitates supply chain payments, has raised $250 million in Series E funding at a $1.1 billion valuation in a round led by Goldman Sachs.

4) Rennes, France-based Klaxoon has raised $50 million to help companies create a more efficient environment for teams to meet and collaborate.

5) Tel Aviv-based SQream, the GPU database developer, will deepen its focus on China after raising a $26.4 million Series B round led by Alibaba Group.

6) German private-public VC firm High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), easily one of the most active investors in tech startups in Europe, has closed its third fund at €316.5 million, slightly above the initial target announced last year.

7) Goldman Sachs' private equity fund has invested about $200 million in French mobile video game maker Voodoo to accelerate its global growth, a Reuters source says.

8) Zurich-based Ava, a femtech startup that makes a fertility monitoring bracelet, has raised $30 million in a Series B funding round. The majority of the new financing came from existing investors Polytech Ventures, btov, and SVC.

9) Madrid-based OnTruck, which has built a “haulage tech platform” to better match supply and demand in the road freight industry, has picked up €25 million in Series B funding. The round is led by global venture capital fund Cathay Innovation, with participation from an array of existing and new investors that includes Atomico, Idinvest, All Iron Ventures, Total Energy Ventures, GP Bullhound, Point 9 Capital, and Samaipata Ventures.

10) Nasdaq-listed surveillance and business intelligence company Verint Systems is reportedly negotiating a $1 billion merger with Israeli cyber surveillance company NSO Group for in a cash and stock deal.
