Serbia-based editorial intelligence startup Content Insights has secured €2 million in funding led by South Central Ventures and followed by existing investors North Base Media and Neveq. The fresh capital injection brings the total amount raised by the company to just over €4 million.
Content Insights started in 2014 and launched its analytics suite in 2016. It uses its own proprietary algorithm dubbed Content Performance Indicator (CPI) to assess each piece of content, author, topic, section, or referrer, and receive actionable insights into audience engagement. Its clients include Ringier Axel Springer, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Diario Noticias, Clarin, South China Morning Post, Daily Mail Group, and De Persgroep.
The company employs 34 people across its offices in Novi Sad, Sofia, and Prague, and is yet to become profitable. It plans to use the money raised to scale its sales and marketing effort with a particular focus on the US market, which it expects to enter by the end of 2018.
