Belgian babysitting app Bsit raises €3 million to go international

Brussels-based startup Bsit raises 3 million in the financing round led by Connect Ventures. Other investors include Kima Ventures and the founders of AngelList, among others. The startup will use this capital to scale its subscription-based childcare and babysitting platform internationally, starting from France.

Dimitri De Boose, CEO and co-founder of Bsit admits that for now the startup has only tested the French market and worked on developing a big pool of babysitters to start with. Bsit plans on a proper expansion to France from the beginning of the academic year, including setting up a Paris office and increasing its marketing efforts in the region.

So far, the startup has mainly developed on the Belgian market that accounts for 85 percent of its income, but De Boose sets a long-term objective for Bsit "to become the European leader in the market of childcare," with Germany and the UK being chosen as the next markets to enter after France.
