Helsinki’s EV charging management provider eMabler raises €630,000, aims to make charging as simple as fueling

Helsinki-based electric vehicle charging software maker eMabler has raised €630,000 in a seed round led by Sofokus Ventures that saw participation from Nidoco and Business Finland. Several undisclosed Angel Investors also took part in the funding. The company is reporting that the new capital will be used to further develop its tech and drive growth in the Nordics and the rest of Europe.

Founded in 2019 by Juha Stenberg and Ville Parviainen, eMabler is a SaaS platform that opens cross-border communication between energy companies, EV operators, infrastructure service providers, and charge-point manufacturers to and from mobile applications, existing customer platforms, and payment solutions.

In other words, eMabler is saving end-users from the dreaded “frequent flyer club” apps folder we’ve all had on our phones at one point or another. The company offers users the ability to use any EV charging station from any operator with just one app, and one bill.

“Electric vehicle charging needs to be as convenient and reliable for the consumer as filling up the tank with fuel. Our primary goal is to help our customers improve the user experience of charging, accelerating the electrification of transportation,” says CEO Stenberg.

Putting things into context, Finland has more than 10 various charging applications, with new offerings being released on a constant basis.

With Norway alone clocking in with 84.9% of all new vehicles sold being of the electric variety, that’s a lot of juice that’s flowing around, juice that needs management. eMabler also reports that they will soon be focusing on this challenge and incorporating it into their solutions.

From an operator standpoint, eMabler uses AI to review data, offering customers insights to help scale profitability, provide a better end-user experience, and combine charging services with other offers.

“Destia offers EV charging services for companies and professional transport. With eMabler, we can enhance the maintenance of the charging equipment we operate, improving their utilization rate. Our customers receive high-quality service through the life cycle of the charging network,” says Marcus Suvanto, Head of EV Charging Solutions at Destia.
