Stockholm’s promote-from-within VC firm Creandum calls 31-year-old Peter Specht to the Partner table

Stockholm-based, globally-minded VC firm Creandum has announced the promotion of now-former Principal Peter Specht to Partner. Specht will remain in Berlin, thus strengthening the firms’ presence in one of Europe’s leading startup ecosystems.

At age 31, Specht is one of Europe’s youngest investors to ascend to a Partner position and joined the firm in the summer of 2017 as an Investment Manager. He spearheaded several of Creandum’s deals in the DACH region and currently heads up efforts in the often underserved Spanish market. His global focus residing in SaaS, B2B marketplaces, and mobility companies.

After his promotion to Principal in 2019, Peter spent half a year working out of Creandum’s San Francisco office, with the primary goal of expanding his network and notability amongst the US VC scene. He sits on the board of Creandum portfolio companies Factorial, Cargo. One, Twaice, CarOnSale, Amie, and Abacum, and co-led investments in Voi and Cake.

“Since Peter joined the firm in 2017, he has had a tremendous impact on building Creandum’s presence in the DACH region, Spain and beyond. Peter’s calculated appetite for risk, driven by his fine-grain due diligence capabilities has enabled Peter to become a trusted advisor both in the firm and to his portfolio companies,” comments General Partner Simon Schmincke. “We have no doubt Peter will continue his strong performance and dedication to early-stage entrepreneurs in his new role.”

Specht’s addition to the Partner table comes just three weeks after the firm welcomed returning Sabina Wizander, and now counts 6 of the 8 Partners at the firm rising within the ranks.

Having been with Creandum since we opened our Berlin office four years ago, I am honored to be promoted to Partner while I’m still continuing to learn everyday from my colleagues and the outstanding entrepreneurs we get to partner with. Having worked in all three of our offices in Berlin, Stockholm and San Francisco, I look forward to further strengthening Creandum’s international presence across borders as we continue to search for the next category-defining companies originating from Europe. I look for tenacious founders and have a soft spot for those who put product experience first,” concludes Specht.
