Motorcycle travel-focused startup Motourismo has raised over €1 million in a seed funding round. The platform offers fans of two-wheeled freedom the ability to find, compare, and book motorcycle travel, motorcycle training, and motorcycle shipping services. The funds are expected to rev up international expansion and technical development of the platform.
Founded in 2016 by Michael Carlin and Christoph Kähler, Motourismo is banking on an upcoming boom in the travel industry. The booking platform/travel agency has approximately 100 partnership deals already in place, and via a beta launch to German-speaking countries in 2019, was awarded the Best Travel Technology award by the German Travel Industry Club.
Motourismo’s new funding is provided by Dutch motorcycle apparel brand REV'IT!, IFB Innovationsstarter, the Danube Angels network, ADVrider, and undisclosed angel investors from the U.S., Israel, and Europe.
“Bringing the benefits of the Motourismo platform to the attention of our global customer base, we provide access to a unique service and the opportunity for great riding experiences. At the same time, Motourismo benefits from our reach through a variety of marketing-communication channels,” commented REV’IT! managing director Ivan Vos.
