Meet Weglot, the Parisian startup translating websites effortlessly with €45 million

Global business expansion and an accelerated shift to online has led to an increase in demand for brands requiring a multilingual website. Betting big on the segment, Paris-based startup building no-code website translation solution, Weglot has brought in €45 million from Partech.

The company will utilise the capital to further expand its market share as a global leader in website translation software. It had earlier received seed funding in 2017 from SIDE Capital.

Founded in 2016, its SaaS software helps businesses turn their websites multilingual. It both translates and displays the content of the website removing the pain of having to manage multiple websites for multiple markets.

Talking about how the funding will lead to expansion of product offerings, Augustin Prot, CEO, Weglot said: “The funding will help us accelerate our expansion and allow us to scale the business as we aim to become the category leader for web translation.”

Bruno Crémel, general partner, Partech Growth added: “Weglot’s commitment to product quality and its customer-centric culture is impressive. With this latest round, Weglot is ideally positioned to capture the large opportunity ahead and become the undisputable category leader in no-code web-app localisation.”

Currently, the platform works with over 60,000 B2B and B2C brands to translate and display their websites into multiple languages, including Microsoft, Spotify, Steve Madden, and Volcom.
