Unit8, a data, analytics and artificial intelligence consultancy that serves the World Wildlife Fund, Daimler and Merck, has just raised fresh funds from global investment assets manager Sagard NewGen.

Sagard didn't disclose how much it is investing, only confirming that the new funds will support Unit8's "next phases of growth."

Unit8's services received the Microsoft's Swiss Partner of the Year award, in the Data & AI category, and the company's also a preferred EMEA partner of US analytics giant Palantir.

The end-to-end services offering includes MLOps, data and AI platforms and consultancy work.

Unit8 has also worked to assist the AI and data developers community, particularly through its open source python library used to engineer time series forecasts, the Darts platform.

Dr. Marcin Pietrzyk, CEO and co-founder of Unit8, said: "Following five years of strong growth, we are delighted to welcome Sagard NewGen as a partner for the new phase in Unit8’s development.

"We remain committed to our joint vision of establishing a leading data, analytics and AI company in Europe. While doing so, we will accelerate scaling of the company by further structuring our portfolio, we will push to hire the best talent and we want to advance our international growth."

Guillaume Lefebvre, partner at Sagard NewGen, added: "“We are very proud to partner with Unit8’s outstanding management team in this new development phase.

"Sagard will put all of its resources at the company’s disposal, leveraging our expertise in supporting tech companies, our deep ecosystem in AI/ML and strong commercial network, to bolster Unit8’s organic growth internationally."
