The founder of hyped UK AI startup 11x is standing down as CEO, saying “different growth phases demand different leadership strengths”.
Hasan Sukkar founded 11x, which specialises in developing autonomous AI-powered sales agents, in 2022.
The change in management follows a report in March this year which said that 11x, which is backed by Andreessen Horowitz and Benchmark, had been claiming customers it didn’t have, showcasing logos on its website that weren’t customers.
11x has raised more than $70m in funding in total.
Posting on LinkedIn, Sukkar said: “I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about what it takes to go from a fast growing startup to an enduring enterprise grade scale-up, and I have realised that I love building from the ground up.
“It's in my bones. I love 11x and believe in our mission deeply. We have a massive opportunity ahead. But sometimes, loving your company means knowing when to pass the CEO baton for the next leg of the race.
“Different growth phases demand different leadership strengths. In our early stage, we needed 0-1 energy, fast-paced execution, and incredibly high velocity to define a new category.
“Now as we scale, we require operational rigour, technical depth, and a scalable culture to support our enterprise customers. This transition optimises our leadership for the challenges ahead.”
Sukkar is being replaced as CEO by Prabhav Jain, 11x’s CTO, who joined 11x in 2024 and previously worked at Brex, the US spend platform, and has previously founded startups.
Sukkar said that Jain was an "incredible culture fit”.
Sukkar added: “He's scaled large organisations before. Loves AI. Loves 11x. Loves to win. Cares deeply for people. Is a proven technical and product leader.”
