After a decade of building online grocers, Rohlik Group is launching Veloq – an AI-driven grocery fulfilment platform that has powered its 37 per cent year-on-year growth across five markets.
Rohlik, which started in the Czech Republic in 2014, once seen as a digital laggard in grocery, has now transformed into one of the fastest-growing markets for online grocery delivery.
Rohlik offers one of the broadest and most differentiated assortments available in the online grocery space (more than 25,000 SKUs), ranging from fresh food from local farmers and artisans to supermarket goods and private label brands, and offers highly reliable 15-minute delivery windows and same-day deliveries available as soon as 1 hour after booking.
Ninety-eight percent of Rohlik’s deliveries are on time.
Today, it delivers over 1.3 million monthly orders and generates €1.1 billion in annual revenue, setting a new benchmark for e-grocery in Central Europe.
Rohlik is active in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Germany, and Romania, and is growing rapidly.
Veloq launches as an independent company to solve industry pain points
Developed and refined within Rohlik’s own high-performance grocery operations, Veloq is now launching as an independent company.
It brings the same game-changing technology to grocers worldwide, helping them meet modern consumer demands for speed, freshness, and quality.
When it comes to scaling same-day delivery, large retailers face limited options without risking wastage or sacrificing product variety. While many rely on in-store picking, this method is inefficient and creates internal competition for stock.
Although off-the-shelf modular solutions exist, they often lack interoperability and are not tailored to the specific needs of grocery.
No provider has yet delivered a modular and integrated solution that combines all the necessary technologies for grocers to run automated fulfillment centres that support same-day delivery at scale.
Built on a proprietary software stack and cutting-edge robotics, Veloq has unified the entire grocery fulfillment process into a single modular platform.
This includes automated picking, intelligent routing, advanced inventory forecasting and personalised customer engagement, all delivered in an easy-to-operate and efficient single platform. Veloq’s AI engine powers every layer of operations, including dynamic queue and labour management within fulfilment centres, supply chain forecasting and real-time last-mile logistics optimisation.
Veloq is targeting large grocers, offering them more than just technology, but a strategic partnership rooted in consultation, custom fulfilment centre design, and ongoing operational support.
ex-Ocado CCO to lead next phase in grocery software evolution
Veloq has appointed Richard McKenzie, former Chief Commercial Officer at Ocado, as its CEO.
According to Richard McKenzie, CEO of Veloq, the major challenge for grocers today is how to meet evolving consumer demands for convenience while still delivering a wide range of high-quality fresh products.
“Veloq represents a unique answer to that challenge. Where legacy providers bolt-on tools that are inflexible or not grocery-specific, we now offer an operating system that gives grocers everything they need in one box – and that adapts, learns, and evolves alongside its partners.
There’s real magic in the software: in how it orchestrates complex operations behind the scenes to deliver simplicity and speed to the end customer. In a market reshaped by consumer expectations for convenience, personalisation, and sustainability, Veloq’s launch marks a turning point – from fragmented software to unified, intelligent orchestration.”
Tomáš Čupr, founder of Rohlik Group said:
“Veloq is the commercialisation of a decade of operational and technological expertise at Rohlik. We see this as a generational opportunity to lead the AI-driven transformation of grocery.
The platform is battle-tested, the market is ready, and our model is built for global scalability.”
