The collaborative learning platform, 360Learning, has been awarded a €1.8 million grant from the French Government to accelerate R&D in AI-powered skills-based learning.

The funding, part of France’s 2030 investment strategy to drive industrial transformation through innovation, will enable 360Learning to expand its Paris-based team of software and machine learning engineers, as it builds the future of workplace learning.

Smart learning solutions tackling Europe’s growing skills crisis

Europe is facing a growing skills crisis. Nearly two-thirds of small and medium-sized businesses in the EU report difficulty finding workers with the right skills, a challenge the European Commission warns is becoming deeply rooted in the region's economy. In France alone, there are significant talent shortages in key sectors like healthcare, software development, cybersecurity, and finance.

Skills-based learning is emerging as a strategic solution, helping individuals take control of their development while enabling organisations to stay competitive. However, traditional training methods—often generic and poorly targeted—struggle to deliver meaningful results.

360Learning’s AI-powered platform makes skills-based learning actionable at scale. AI-powered workflows enable L&D teams to automate tasks, empower subject-matter expert (SME) knowledge sharing, and deliver personalised learning at the right time on the right device. L&D teams are then free to focus on closing critical skills gaps in their organisation through targeted upskilling and reskilling campaigns.

Benjamin Marchal, CEO of 360Learning, said:

Skills gaps are widening at an unprecedented rate. Organisations without robust upskilling and reskilling strategies will fall behind in the global innovation race. This French Government support recognises AI's transformative potential in learning – and we're just beginning to unlock what's possible.

360Learning supports targeted skill development, from project management for sales teams to specialised technical skills across departments. Employees get a clear view of their skill growth, boosting engagement and career progression. At the same time, L&D teams can identify in-house experts to co-create tailored training through collaborative learning.

With over 2,500 customers, including Michelin, Safran, Arkema, Malakoff Humanis, Symbio, AVOCarbon, and Wakam, are already scaling skills-based learning across their organisations through 360Learning.

This grant will help advance 360Learning’s mission to deliver skills-based learning that drives business performance, both in France and across its global customer base.
