Your wish is our command: Anything World's technology creates 3D worlds by voice alone

London-based startup Anything World has raised £500,000 in pre-seed funding and launched the public beta version of its deep tech platform, which lets users speak their 3D worlds into (digital) existence. Warner Music led the investment. Using AI, natural language processing, computer vision and an extensive library of 3D assets, Anything World conjures up immersive environments that are requested and dictated by voice. Open-source, readily available and remixable 3D assets are analysed by the company’s machine learning systems, with animations and behaviours algorithmically assigned. Founded in 2018, the company is working with major brands such as Ubisoft, Instagram, Facebook and Warner Music. While currently the technology is largely applied to gaming (reducing production time and costs by a reported 40 percent), the team sees potential in education, marketing and other creative industries.

The startup also predicts that while the technology is well suited for virtual and augmented reality right now, it will be even more successful with mixed reality, once widely rumoured, affordable wearables enter the market from the likes of Apple, Facebook and Snapchat. Anything World caught the eye of Warner Music late last year, after the startup participated in two accelerators: Ubisoft’s Artificial Intelligence Accelerator at Station F in Paris and then Techstars London. Then the music corporation’s Boost Fund became the lead investor in the startup’s pre-seed round. “I’m excited about the power that their technology allows within the immersive space — it creates exciting new opportunities for our artists to express their creativity and engage with their fans through 3D worlds and objects,” said Oana Ruxandra, EVP Business Development and Chief Digital Officer at Warner Music Group.
