Berlin's direct-to consumer logistics platform Hive has raised €6.6 million in a seed funding round.
Led by Earlybird Venture Capital, the round also saw participation from Amplifier and existing investors Picus Captial and founders from Flixbus and Forto.
The capital raise is expected to expand the company's product offerings, enter new markets, and naturally, grow the team.
"Hive has created a truly compelling solution that fundamentally rethinks fulfillment solutions and provides e-commerce companies with a real alternative to Amazon and co.," comments Earlybird partner Dr. Fabian Heilemann. "Both in the development of Hive's own software and its customer growth, the entire team has already reached many milestones at an impressive pace in the last few months."
Founded in Berlin in 2020 by Oskar Ziegler, Franz Purucker and Leonard von Kleist, Hive eases the fulfillment process for e-commerce firms via a software solution that provides customised analytics, and forecasts and suggestions, in addition to its own in-house logistics centres.
Hive is operating in a highly promising growth market. Over the course of 2020, in Germany alone, online businesses generated approximately €84 billion in sales.
"We are very grateful for our investors’ trust, and that we are now able to continue our growth with Earlybird at our side," adds Hive co-founder and managing director Oskar Ziegler.
