Deliverect, a Ghent-based software that manages online food orders for restaurants, has raised €16.25 million in a Series B round led by OMERS Ventures, with contributions from Newion, SmartFin, and the company’s own founders.
The Belgian SaaS product helps restaurants streamline all the online orders for delivery, integrating third-party ordering platforms like Uber Eats, Deliveroo, Glovo, and Doordash into restaurants’ point-of-sale systems. With Deliverect, restaurant staff no longer need to monitor multiple devices or manually re-enter orders into the in-house system.
Given the dramatic impact of the coronavirus pandemic on its target market, the startup has made a few changes to its product in hopes that restaurants will use the software to adapt to the current delivery-only reality. Set-up fees have been waived and new monthly subscription plans, which can be cancelled at any time, have been introduced.
Founded in 2018, the company has a team of 50 people around the world. The Series B funding will support further R&D and product development, as the business eyes international expansion. OMERS Ventures managing partner Jambu Palaniappan will join the board.
