Dutch app-only online supermarket Crisp raises €3 million

Dutch app-only supermarket Crisp has officially launched and raised €3 million from “Dutch entrepreneurs and private investors,” the company stated in a press release. Crisp offers next-day delivery six days a week across the Netherlands and focuses on quality food from local producers.

Riding the wave of the popularity of healthy food, Crisp promises to deliver fresh seasonal products sourced directly from small local growers and producers. “Mussels come from family-owned ‘Neeltje Jans’ on the Dutch south coast, tomatoes are grown in Amsterdam, and North Sea fish comes straight from the TX36 fishing boat,” the company said.

Founded in April 2018 by Tom Peeters, Michiel Roodenburg, René Bink, and Eric Klaassen, Crisp currently employs more than 30 people.
