Berlin-based Spectrm raises $3 million for conversational AI marketing platform

Spectrm, a German conversational marketing platform powered by AI, has raised $3 million in Series A funding from Runa Capital. The platform helps marketing teams steer customers from websites, ads and messaging services (like Facebook or Whatsapp) through to final purchases, all in one conversation.

Based in Berlin and New York City, Spectrm serves mid-market and enterprise B2C firms in multiple verticals, customers such as Ebay, Purple, Ford, Groupon, Renault and KLM. In a press release, the company claims it has facilitated an average of 6 million interactions per month over the last year. Runa Capital, a California-based VC firm founded by four Russian entrepreneurs, recently opened an office in Berlin and closed its third fund at $157 million. Partner Dmitry Galperin commented that conversational marketing promises more customer insights and higher ROI than other channels and that Spectrm’s product is “widely relevant across industries”.
