It's conference season in Europe again, which means a lot of travel for our small team and, sadly, way too little time to write about all the amazing startups we meet all across the region.
That said, we've spent the past 10 days on a whirlwind tour of the DigitalK conference in Sofia (Bulgaria), Pioneers Festival in Vienna (Austria) and Startup Fest Europe and The Next Web Conference in Amsterdam (The Netherlands), and we wanted to highlight the winners of the various startup competitions associated to these (warmly recommended) tech events.
In chronological order:
Office R&D won the **DigitalK StartUp Competition**. The startup, which offers a management platform for building engaged communities and efficient workspaces, won a €10,000 cash award from LAUNCHub and Microsoft Ventures.
Danish-British fintech startup Pleo **won the startup competition at this year's Pioneers Festival**. Pleo receives up to €500,000 from Speedinvest, a trip to California to visit the Red Bull High Performance Center Experience and a private consulting workshop with Austrian state secretary Harald Mahrer. And at **this year's The Next Web Conference in Amsterdam**, awards were picked up by France-based Qanda, which won the TNW Boost competition, as well as Berlin's Lesara, which picked up the Tech5 prize, cementing it as one of Europe's fastest-growing tech startups.
Last but not least, dryTools won the startup competition at **this year's Spark.Me conference in Macedonia**. Congrats to all victorious startups, and all nominees and finalists really. For more technology events coming up in Europe, check our calendar.
