Apartment rental platform Wunderflats raises €3 million

Wunderflats, a property tech – or “proptech” – startup from Berlin has raised €3 million from Creathor Venture, IBB Beteiligungsgesellschaft, Econa AG, and a number of family offices.

Wunderflats, founded in 2015, is a platform for renting furnished apartments for a minimum of 31 days. The service, it said, acts as alternative accommodation for medium-length stays; it’s targeted at commuters and people that regularly travel for business. It initially launched as a student-focused service and has since pivoted away from this model.

The new injection of cash will be invested in product development and growth; it is also looking at additional services like cleaning. According to the company, it has 17,000 apartments listed in Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Munich. Jan Hase, CEO of the startup, told tech.eu that it will also look into expanding into more areas around Germany.

One of its chief competitors is Cologne-based Homelike, which raised €4 million in August.
