Moscow, Russia-based private investment group Finstar has acquired a 51% stake in Prestamos Prima, a Barcelona-based fintech company that began life under the name VIASMS.ES back in 2011.

Prestamos Prima specialises in alternative financing products and is planning a major push into Europe in the coming months. Alongside the deal with Finstar, which also just invested big in German fintech startup SpotCap, Prestamos Prima is today also announcing a slew of new features for its European peer-to-peer lending platform Viventor.

Finstar knows the financial technology and consumer finance space well, having established partnerships with fast-growing lenders across Europe. Last year, the investment firm also debuted its own portfolio company, Digital Finance International, with the aim of applying technology to deliver tailored consumer lending solutions globally.
