Irish freelance marketing platform Advisable raises €1 million

Dublin-based Advisable.com, a startup that connects businesses with high-level freelance marketers, has raised €1 million in a funding round led by Frontline Ventures, with participation from a group of angel investors including Breon Corcoran (former CEO, Paddy Power Betfair), Paddy Cosgrave (CEO, Web Summit), Anne Heraty (CEO, CPL Resources Plc.), and Oisin Hanrahan (CEO, Handy.com).

Advisable claims to have helped companies including SAP, Avery Dennison, TravelPerk, and Babbel find high-level marketing freelancers across the world. The platform currently lists independent workers in 53 countries.

According to a report by McKinsey cited by Advisable, US firms have spent $490 billion in 2017 on high-paid freelancers who earn more than $75,000 per year—four times more than the year before. At the same time, 85 percent of this workforce have never used a digital platform to find work.

The Irish startup says that it's developed a proprietary technology that helps matching companies to the right freelancers. The customer needs to fill out a project brief, which is then refined by the startup's team and put in front of the candidates.

The startup is planning to use the capital to further develop its platform and expand its team of both full-time employees and freelancers.
