The Irish startup has developed an API for companies to build their own voice control strategies, and recently hired Google's former head of voice, Ian Hodson.

Voice-controlled features are having their moment. Amazon’s Alexa, Google Home, and Apple’s Siri are dominating the space. Amazon’s Echo for example now commands more than 70% of the US market for voice-controlled speakers.

“Google and Amazon can influence consumers in such a way, they’re making people realise that voice technology can actually be really good now,” said Peter Cahill, CEO and founder of Dublin-based Voysis, which offers an AI-powered voice recognition and control platform.
