Audio Analytic Ltd. is a privately held company, founded in 2008 and headquartered in Cambridge, UK with offices in San Jose, CA. The company's ai3™ software enables device manufacturers, chip companies and service providers with technology to automatically recognize and respond to sounds such as smoke and CO alarms, breaking window glass, or even a baby’s cry.

The company will use the funding to further develop its AI-based sound recognition technology, and meet growing demand for its software, ai3™.

“At Audio Analytic, we believe every sound tells a story, especially in the home," said Dr. Chris Mitchell, Audio Analytic’s Founder and CEO in a statement. "This $5.5 million Series A round will enable us to meet growing customer demand for our Artificial Audio Intelligence."

Audio Analytic works with manufacturers of smart home technology, and a range of consumer devices containing ai3™ software are already on the market, with more slated to launch in 2017.
