Paris-based Side, a platform connecting companies and freelancers, has raised €5 million from several investors. The company had previously raised €1.3 million in October 2016 from Connect Ventures.
Side wants to establish itself in the competitive recruitment market, already somewhat saturated by platforms and apps. The platform is focusing on students, who only have part-time availability and are looking to gain work experience.
"Their product vision is much more developed than what already exists on the market," commented Jean de la Rochebrochard, partner at Kima Ventures, as reported by Maddyness. "Side has the means to become the Airbnb of temporary jobs."
The new funding will allow the company to accelerate its commercial development in France and the United Kingdom, where the startup has opened an office.
