Darktrace, a UK-based AI cybersecurity firm, raised $75 million in this latest financing round, a Series D. The round was led by Insight Venture Partners and included Summit Partners, KKR, and TenEleven Ventures as well.

Founded in 2013, Darktrace is a company that uses artificial intelligence to stop malicious computer activity and prevent new threats via the "Enterprise Immune System", which monitors a company's network activity.

The company says they will use the funds raised during this financing round to continue to expand into more markets and to combat the wave of new cybersecurity threats.

In a statement quoted by TechCrunch, Nicole Eagen, CEO at Darktrace, says that this recent investment "marks another critical milestone for the company as we experience unprecedented growth in the U.S. market and are rapidly expanding across Latin America and Asia Pacific in particular, as organizations are increasingly turning to our AI approach to enhance their resilience to cyber-attackers."
