Daimler has acquired German ride-sharing firm flinc as the carmaker expands its focus on customers who prefer to pay to use rather than to own a vehicle. The size of the acquisition was not disclosed.
Based in Darmstadt and launched in 2011, flinc is a provider of door-to-door ridesharing for short- and medium-haul routes. Today, around half a million customers are registered with the platform, the company claims.
Flinc will continue to operate independently.
